Description

Honest old warhorse of a pistol that shows honest use and a lot of field wear overall.  Timing is fine and the cylinder locks up tightly after rotation.  This old martial .44 has mixed numbers indicating use during and after the Civil War years but all numbers date prior to 1865.  The loading lever and wedge have been replaced, perhaps as the originals were damaged.  The one piece walnut grips are in very good condition with only minor chipping as shown near the toe of the butt.  Very little cylinder scene is remaining and the barrel marking is weak but visible.  If you want an honest and inexpensive bona fide Civil War Union cavalry combat weapon for a very small price, look no further!  You have found one.
