Description
This is one of only a few known examples sold by Ball, Black and Company of New York City 1853-1863. This company, better known for manufacturing both the Gillmore and Kearny Medals, also sold epaulettes, sashes, belts, regimental and national flags, guidons and ensigns. Less than two dozen swords are known to exist. This example is untouched and completely original as shown and in attic condition. The etching is crisp and detailed and will clean excellent plus. No scabbard.
