Description
This is a very nice and honest example of one of the most reliable cavalry carbines of the American Civil War. All markings are crisp and clear and mechanically, the weapon is near flawless. This weapon has traces of original finish overall and mostly is a very mellow and honest field used weapon with a fine age patina. The stock and forearm are in very nice condition and a fine grain is visible in the oiled walnut stocks. The Springfield Research Database indicates this weapon was issued to the 18th NY Cavalry in 1863.
