Rollin White Arms – Smith & Wesson – Pocket revolver in .22 Rimfire, serial number 1540 (early 1861 manufacture). The Rollin White Arms Company was formed by Mr. Rollin White of Lowell, Massachusetts in 1861 to manufacture revolvers to meet the demand which Smith and Wesson could not keep up with during the Civil War. These were only made from 1861-1864 and it total production was around 4,300. It is a brass framed single action revolver chambered in 22 short rimfire. The weapon has crisp markings, including on the cylinder, and 95% original varnish on the rosewood grips. Action is strong as is the bore. These were a favorite personal carry weapon with Civil War soldiers on both sides, WHEN they could get them!
