Description

CG-1. The Model 1858 Double Action .44 caliber Percussion Army Revolver was the second type of the Starr Arms Company revolvers  produced. The Starr Arms Company of New York City, Yonkers, Binghamton and Moorisania, New York delivered 16,100 Model 1858 Army revolvers to the government at a price of $25.00 each between January, 1862 and May, 1863.

This particular weapon, #15599, falls into the serial number range of pistols issued to the 19th Pennsylvania Cavalry in the Spring of 1863 according to the Springfield Research Database.  It is very brown overall and shows no evidence of having been cleaned or polished.  The action, typical of a Starr, is hit or miss—but mostly works fine.  A good cleaning will improve the action.  The grips are in excellent condition and all markings are crisp and legible.
