Description

Manufactured circa 1850-1853, this very large boot pistol is serial number 24 which likely dates it closer to 1850 than 1853.  It is chambered in .35 caliber (where most are .32) and possibly was used as a .36 single shot utilizing standard M1851 Colt Navy revolver bullets.  It has a part round, part octagonal barrel and exhibits a mellow gray brown patina overall.  The bore is crisp and the action is tight.  These pistols saw extensive use as personal weapons during the Civil War by both Northern and Southern forces.
