Description
Really nice relic found in the early 1900s right on the site of the Peach Tree Creek battle area in Atlanta, Georgia. This little gem, a .36 double action bar hammer single shot pistol, was recovered during the process of building a fence on the property, according to family history. It was found buried a few inches deep, clearly discarded after the last shot was fired, freezing the hammer in time. The original barrel length is only 1 1/8” making this example holding the known record for the SHORTEST barrel I have ever seen on a boot pistol. Often called a muff pistol or a peanut, these personal defense weapons were carried by soldiers, gamblers and even ladies of the night. One of the coolest battlefield relics I have seen in quite a long time.
