Description

This is a fine example of the scarce iron mounted  “Old Wristbreaker” pattern sword as imported by Tiffany and Company of New York in 1861 and 1862.  The leather grip and wire wrap is original and the overall condition for this rarity is fine plus.  The blade is clearly marked “PDL” on the reverse side of the ricasso, as the blade was manufactured by P.S. Lunenschloss of Solingen, Germany, in the early 1860s.
