Description

Nice example of the standard issue enlisted pattern Model 1860 Light Cavalry sword with original scabbard.  Original leather grip and wire wrap. Clear and crisp maker marks and date and inspector initials.  This sword has been cleaned at some point in time but overall is a very solid original example of the sabre carried into battle by Union mounted forces.  Ames Manufacuring of Chicopee, Massachusetts, was the most prolific of American sword makers in the era.
