Description
Patented in 1845, the pepperbox was a unique design that had a massive cylinder which was also the barrel that revolved. Percussion ignition was used via a bar lever located on top of the firearm. These weapons were extremely durable and accurate and were widely carried by soldiers and civilians alike. This particular example was said to have been part of the firearms collection of actor and comedian Buddy Hackett which sold at auction several years ago–but the documentation has been lost.
At some point in time, the weapon was professionally refinished and blued and chromed as it is today.. All markings remain clear and legible and the weapon functions properly.
