Description
This beast of a rifled musket was manufactured in 1863 in .69 caliber. It has a 34.25″ rifled round barrel, octagonal at the breech with proof marks, saber bayonet lug and long range rear sight. Tang stamped with the S/N 4xxx. The lockplate marked with a large eagle over “WHITNEYVILLE” and the action functions properly. It features a well worn and used two band walnut stock. Metal parts have surface oxidation marks which are not unusual for a sea service weapon. The most inexpensive example on the market today, but solid as a rock! Ramrod is an old replacement, definitely shows age and period use. Price INCLUDES shipping to the lower 48 US.
