Description

This fine accoutrement plate was purchased from an 87 year old in Tennessee with the story that his father, who cut timber, picked it up after a tree had been felled, the limbs gouging up the soil around the tree.  He said his father had told him he found it around 1900 while working with a timber crew who were clearing for roads around the battlefield.  The face is in fine condition but both attaching loops have rusted away.
