Description

This is a fine example of a standard H&P conversion of a weapon manufactured near the end of the M1816 production cycle in 1841, which is a rarity in itself.  All markings are clean and crisp and mechanically, the weapon is in excellent condition overall.

The New Jersey company of Hewes and Phillips altered approximately  20,000 flintlock muskets of the 1816 and variant later patterns from flintlock to percussion for the State of New Jersey and for the U.S. government from 1861 to 1862.
