Description

Beautiful and near untouched example of a cavalry carbine as manufactured by the Richmond Armory in early 1863.  According to existing records, fewer than 600 were ever produced and less than 30 are known to still exist today.

A shorter version of the standard rifle, this little brown gem still retains both original sling swivels and is a textbook example of the Richmond “pinched sight” weapons produced.  The oiled walnut stock is solid, the action is tight and crisp and the bore is above average.

Overall, it would be difficult to locate a nicer one anywhere, and this one is a FRESH find from central Virginia.  The buttplate is alloyed brass and the front nosecap is iron, which is correct for 1863 models.
