Description

Very nice and early War example of the full frame M1861 Colt Navy percussion revolver as manufactured in early 1862 (serial number 4733).  This .36 caliber revolver was cleaned probably 40-50 years ago so the finish is a dull to bright gray overall with traces of original color in protected areas.  Action is crisp and the cylinder locks up tightly.  All markings are clear and crisp as shown.  The case shows age but likely is not original to the weapon, as most of the pattern were military purchased (but only a few marked and inspected as the Colt M1860 Army was).  Uncommon example of a very limited production handgun of the Civil War years.
