Description
This fine edged weapon dates from 1790 to around 1805 and is formed in the manner of pre-Napoleonic First Empire sabres. It is fully etched with wonderful motifs and is retained in its original brass scabbard. This type of weapon is classified as a Federal era American sword but was carried well into the early Civil War time frame. The blade etching is incredible! Museum and advanced collector grade all the way.
