Description

One of the more difficult patterns of enlisted grade uniforms to locate, this fine example was once in the well known collection of Michael Sorenson of California.  Overall condition is fine plus inside and out.  The blue wool body is trimmed in crimson cording and a wonderful set of original sergeant chevrons are on the arms.  The coat is 3/4 lined, as most arsenal examples were, and has a clear government inspector mark inside the sleeve as shown.  Fewer than 30 examples of this pattern of coat are known to have survived out of the thousands manufactured from 1861-1865.  Museum and investment grade all the way, and absolutely original and authentic in all respects.
