Description
This is a fine example of a Cabotville manufactured Ames cavalry enlistedman sabre that is FRESH from an estate in Illinois. This beautiful beast is clearly marked on both sides of the ricasso and retains the original leather grip wrap and wire as well as the original throat washer. It is absolutely untouched, unpolished and exactly as found in the estate. The scabbard is a smooth brown overall and fits snugly, free of dents or nicks of consequence. This is NOT an easy sword to locate in this high of condition and would fit in any collection of fine militaria.
