Description

Very crisp, 100% original example with fine mechanical action, markings, wood and bore.  Original slotted and knurled ramrod.  Missing only the lower sling swivel.  Very clear Birmingham Small Arms Trade inspector marks in the wood as shown.  The wood is incredibly crisp on this specimen and oxidation and pitting is minimal. This weapon fresh from an estate in Ohio and dated 1863.  The bore is .577 caliber as indicated by the 25-25 proof marks at the breech.  This is one of the last imported to both the North and South and could have been used by either side.  If you ever wanted one you could shoot with confidence, this is it!  Museum and advanced collector grade overall.
