Description
Fresh estate find, this is an exceptional overall condition M1911A1 US service pistol in .45 acp. The contract for Ithaca runs with Remington Rand putting the production circa late 1944. It retains an honest 90%+ finish and of interesting note, the US Ordnance stamp on the frame is double struck (see images). Mechanically it functions properly and appears to be original in all respects. The bore is sharp with only minor oxidation and staining.
These fine old war horses are becoming harder to locate in nice condition than many Civil War era pistols! Investment and collector grade. FFL or C&R license required for transfer…NO EXCEPTIONS. Don’t miss this one!
According to the Springfield Research Database, M1911A1’s in the serial number range were shipped for issue in the field to the 5th and 6th US Army from 1944 to 1945.
