Description
Fresh find from Virginia, this canteen is pure attic condition (or barn, as a mouse seems to have made a home inside at one time). It is a standard Gardner patent and has the name J.C. Flowers neatly carved on one side as shown. Civil War records show THREE soldiers by that name–23rd Alabama, 37th Alabama and 1st Florida…take your pick!
