Description
This is a fine example of a standard officer pattern which follows the regulations of 1825-1835. It has a unique attribute—the throg button is actually a one-piece New York State seal button which has been period brazed on the brass scabbard! Swords like this were heavily used in both the Seminole and Mexican Wars era and even drifted into Civil War militia use. The brass scabbard is hand tooled and in fine condition overall.
