Description

This small gem was once in the famed collection of Robert McCauley of Maryland and recently surfaced on the collector market along with several dozen similar items that remained in the family, just as found in an old storage box long forgotten!

This is one of the finer grade powder flasks manufactured and exhibits incredible technical detail overall.  This particular style was known issued in cased sets of the Remington .36 caliber percussion revolvers, aka “Navy” patterns.

While it was likely available for use with other percussion pistols of the era, the style was specific to the Remington percussion revolvers well into 1864.

The only detraction is that the previous owner clearly liked to polish his brass!
