Description
Very rare American sword pattern as manufactured by Horstmann of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, using the dies of the famed swordmaker Widmann. The blade retains generous amounts of original blue finish and the original leather scabbard (missing the drag). Very few of this pattern have surfaced and this is a transitional type using the original Widmann dies. The next variation had a modified eagle pommel with eyes and a rayskin covered grip. Investment and museum quality blade, and a tough pattern to find!
