Description
Very solid example of this high quality weapon named for Jefferson Davis and his Riflemen of the Mexican War. This example is extremely solid and functional overall and everything is original except the ramrod, which is a replacement of the correct pattern. It is a .58 caliber indicating it was one of the weapons sent back to an armory to change the original caliber, .54, to accept the .58 minie balls. The bore is well above average and all markings are crisp and clear.
