Fresh from a west coast historical society auction, this is a REAL one all the way! All buttons, plates and cords are clearly original to the white helmet body and condition is 97%+! In the past 40 years, I have seen perhaps TWO dead real examples—so this one makes THREE. Initially introduced in 1872, this type of helmet was in use up to around 1920 with the last documented field use in the Far East .
