Description
This weapon was likely used in a Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) post as the scabbard has been plated in bright nickel, commonly done in the 1880s era. Many times the veterans would use the bright scabbards in parades or for ceremonies.
The blade is in near fine condition and the grip retains the original leather and wire wrap. The only marking visible is a “U.S.” stamped at the ricasso and there is no date present. If you like ‘em nice, look no more!
