Description

This is a solid example of a typical inexpensive pocket revolver circa 1910-1934 made by the well known US Revolver Company which actually WAS Iver Johnson Arms and Bicycle Works.  The company cranked out thousands of these inexpensive small caliber revolvers from about the time of the pre-WWI through the roaring 1920s and 1930s.  Your grandaddy likely had one if he went out carousing!  It rotates the cylinder and fires the hammer but the action is sluggish–may benefit from a good cleaning.  US Revolver products were not directly sold by Iver Johnson but were sold via Sears Roebuck and Montgomery Ward mail order catalogs.  Many went overseas with WWI doughboy soldiers for backup weapons and they were popular with gamblers and drinkers!

The breaktop design allowed rapid removal of spent cartridges and easy reloading. There is one small frame pin missing (held together with a paper clip) that should not be difficult to replace.

As with any antique weapon, it is NOT warranted safe to fire! There is a hairline crack in the right grip and the left grip has a small chip missing, as shown. No permit required for transfer of ownership as the weapon is manufactured for use of an obsolete cartridge out of production for over 50 years and is exempt from Federal Firearms laws and regulations.
