Description

Nice example of the Light Cavalry pattern as used from 1859 until 1865.  This sword retains the full leather grip and twisted brass wire wrap and is complete with the original scabbard.  It was manufactured under US government contract in early 1865 by Christopher Roby of Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and is so marked.  Overall a very honest Civil War edged weapon, ready for display!
