Description

This is a fine early Civil War pure regulation Captain of Cavalry frock coat fully adorned with line officer eagle “C” buttons.  It has an unsewn raw bottom selvedge and functional cuffs plus a heavily quilted green polished cotton lining. The rank bars are original to the coat and other than some small areas of insect damage and field use as shown, this frock coat is about as fine as you will likely ever find.

This beautiful mounted officer coat sold the last time in 2019 by the Horse Soldier of Gettysburg at a significantly higher price and has returned to the collector market as part of a large collection we recently purchased.  Line officer frock coats have the lowest survival rate of any officer uniforms of the era and cavalry is especially difficult to locate.  If your collection is crying out for this beautiful original military regulation coat, act NOW before it disappears again!
