Description
This small gem was once in the famed collection of Robert McCauley of Maryland and recently surfaced on the collector market along with several dozen similar items that remained in the family, just as found in an old storage box long forgotten!
While it was likely available for use with other percussion pistols of the era, the style wis specific to the Colt and generally came in cased sets of both the Colt Model 1849 Pocket and Colt Root Model 1855 series of percussion revolvers.
The only detraction is that the previous owner clearly liked to polish his brass!
