Description
This beautiful example of the cavalry pith helmet for enlistedmen is complete not only with the vivid golden yellow horsehair plume, but also the original over the shoulder aguilette! It was made by McKenney and Company of New York City under direct US Government contract. These helmets were only used a few years and not many examples as nice as this have survived. It has some very minor glue repairs on the inside as shown but overall is solid and exceptional.
