Description
This stunning sword exhibits the pinnacle of sword making during the American Civil War–raised relief mounts, detailed engraving, full standing liberty hilt, gold washed blade–it has it ALL! Even as a sword it is fabulous–but it gets better! The sword is not only engraved with the owner’s name, who was a Surgeon, but there is also a detailed engraving on the reverse of the scabbard listing the many battles the doctor was involved in!
We have located the Surgeon and are still seeking information on him–but we found him! Born in France, there is a strong chance his name was not spelled correctly in records of the era–but there is no doubt who he was!
If you want the finest quality that can be found and also in the field of medical surgeons of the War, here it is.
